Website Feedback
Logo and Branding -
Feedback received suggested that I need to incorporate more branding into my website, as my logo is quite small and doesn't stand out from the design of the website. To improve this, I can tweak the size of the logo in the upper corner and maybe also change the positioning to be more central. In addition, it may also improve the branding on my site if I put the logo on the other pages, as the logo is only present on the Home (main) page.
It may also require a tweaking of the brand name, as most people wouldn't initially read 'JMR' as 'jammer', so I might end up changing it to 'JamR', which would hopefully be more readable and pronounced in the correct way. Alternatively, I could put some information somewhere on the site about the correct reading of the name, so that as people become familiar with it, it would become more known to others who may stumble upon the site through word-of-mouth.
Design and Colour -
I was told from feedback that the design of my website is appealing to look at and simplistic, which some people may prefer over it being more cluttered or colourful, for example. However, the theme and colours on all the pages may have to be altered as black and white is arguably overused and may be boring to look at to some. Thus, to improve I would start by researching colour schemes that pair with black and white in an attempt to incorporate more colour into my site, which would then hopefully make it more appealing to the eye.
In terms of font and font colour, I ensured that all the fonts presented were matching, and I only have a total of about 2 or 3 different fonts overall (including the blog fonts), so I shouldn't have to change font. In contrast, I was told that some of the shadowing and chromatics of the font FX was hard to distinguish, especially when placed on top of images, so this can be changed to make text easily readable without ruining the aesthetic of the website.
