Business Plan Written
Executive summary
At JMR, we always aim to
provide you with the facts you seek to learn about the hottest and newest
releases in your music library. From articles to reviews; from suggestions to
interviews, our ever-expanding music journal will seek to satisfy the cravings
you have for a new sound. Let’s not forget the variety of different genres we
include to suit each and every taste that stumbles upon us. You won’t find a
music blog like this anywhere else.
Business overview
In my business, we write reviews on the new and
hottest albums within the alternative and heavy genre; giving our honest opinions
and recommending the best music. We also do interviews so you can find out more
about your favourite artists, and we allow readers’ articles to be published in
order to provide the best audience engagement. As well as this, we plan to sell
merchandise representing our brand and are hoping to release hardcopies of our
journal to bring in more revenue.
Sales and marketing
I plan to market my business
through a transparent demonstration of diversity, which is something important
among the younger generation (my target audience), and important to me. My
sales would rely on adverts for the moment until I eventually (hope) to print
hard copies. I may also write pieces for other publishers for a fee, as I
cannot rely on only ads to keep my business running.
Finances
My income will primarily come from
advertisements online as well as some PR work that I may do on the side for
other publishers due to the fact that starting up, the business will struggle
for money.
Financing will be a massive
issue, as freelancing in flexible in terms of income, and so I may have to
consider taking out a loan from Arts Council England to get my company on its
feet.
Planning
Planning
will be crucial due to the fact that I will be working by myself, and so trying
to manage the business without a plan will be detrimental to both my health and
management strategies.
I
will need to plan my estimated revenue income, connections, social media
engagement and time management.
This
means I will have to be strict with sticking to my business model, which will
set the foundation for my business.
Staff
and management team
We don’t plan to have
many staff, if any, except from myself. I plan to manage, write and edit the
articles on the blog. However, I may seek to collaborate with other
non-competitive partners for either a small free or an exchange of my own
writing.
If it does get to the point that I cannot run
it by myself, it may get to the point that I have to hire staff.
Operations and resources
I will only be using intellectual and human resources, as it will be me
writing and managing the whole business. However, if I do end up releasing
merch and hardcopies of my journal, I will need to invest in physical resources
as well.
My business will be virtually based, so the resources I need to manage
are little to none.
